More DetailsC-FIX REPAIR comes in 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90mm diameter cut out sizes.
C FIX LINER comes in a STANDARD (depth 9.5mm) or a DEEP (depth 12.5mm) both in 65,70,75,80,85mm diameter cut out sizes, if you are in-between diameter sizes, always use the size up.
C-FIX REPAIR sizes are measured by the diameter of the cut out needed and are adjustable to your ceiling depth (up to 15mm).
C-FIX LINER sizes are also measured by the diameter of the cut out needed but come in a choice of two depths: STANDARD (9.5mm deep) and DEEP (12.5mm) according to the minimum thickness of you plasterboard ceiling.
C-FIX LINER only takes seconds to fit and C-FIX REPAIR only takes a matter of minutes to fit. You will however have to wait for your filler or adhesive to become fully dry before use.
No you do not need access to the ceiling space for either of our products. They are designed to fit from below.
For C-FIX REPAIR you will need a drill/screwdriver, a small straight edge or ruler, a pair of pliers and a filling knife. You will also need some structural filler e.g. one coat plaster (not lightweight filler). All other materials are included in your kit.
For C-FIX LINER you don't need any tools, just some adhesive (decorators caulk is best).
If you need to move your downlighter slightly (e.g. to align downlighters or if you are too close to a joist /obstruction) then C-FIX REPAIR allows you to move your cut out by up to 30mm. If you need to move your cut out more than 30mm we recommend using a small batten inserted and fixed into the ceiling space for support in the enlarged area you will need to fill.
No, it doesn’t matter if your C-Fix Liner doesn’t come flush with your plasterboard, just choose the depth of your C-FIX LINERS (STANDARD or DEEP) so that they do not protrude past your ceiling.
C-FIX LINERS are designed to protect your ceiling from downlighter springs from above, they are protecting the top edge of your cut out the inside the ceiling.
