ceilings from damage caused by downlighters.

 

 

C-fix Liners are a secondary product designed to reinforce new undamaged downlighter cut outs in plasterboard ceilings.  The steel liners require no access to the ceiling space, its patented design allows it to be retro fitted through the cut out to protect the topside of the ceiling (most damage is caused by removing down lighters for maintenance and redecorating; the large springs used to hold the fitting close to the ceiling remove chunks of delicate plasterboard every time they are pulled downwards to release the light).  The Liners are not visible from below and do not protrude through the cut out, therefore allowing the flush fitting of any standard downlighter.  They are available in a range of sizes that coordinate with standard downlight fittings.

Available in two depths:

STANDARD (9.5mm depth)
DEEP (12.5mm depth)

both in diameter sizes: 65mm, 70mm, 75mm, 80mm & 85mm

STEP 1

Turn off the power supply and ensure the working area is safe. Remove existing downlighter and ensure all wires and insulation are clear and that the area is clean and dust free.

STEP 2

Deform the Liner by pushing one lip up / one lip down and twist through the cut out into the ceiling space.

STEP 3

Apply heat resistant bonder or Decorators Caulk to the underside lip of Liner.

 

STEP 4

Bring Liner down into the cut out and wipe away any excess adhesive and allow to dry. Fit downlighter as per manufacturers instructions.
